The DD Waiver provides the funds required by children, seniors, or adults who have developmental disabilities and other related conditions. This waiver pays for care provided in the patient’s home, relative’s home, adoptive family’s home, or foster care home.
Depending on the screening process, the patient can be eligible for a DD Waiver. He/ she must meet these criteria:
- Medical Assistance eligible
- Assessed and identified to have a developmental disability or a similar condition
- Requested through the informed decision for home and community-based care instead of ICF/DD services (Intermediate Care Facility or with Developmental Disability)
- Assessed and identified to require the degree of care provided to a patient in an ICF/DD
Individual Options (IO) Waiver
Administered by DODD, the IO Waiver (Individual Options) Waiver is for individuals with developmental disabilities. They must be able to meet their requirements. Through this waiver, patients can receive health care services in their homes rather than in an institutionalized health care facility.
